Hailing from Los Angeles California, the Nutribullet company focuses on extraction appliances. Nutribullet has a few nice models on the market, like Nutribullet Pro, the Magic Bullet Blender, and the Nutribullet Pro Blender and Mixer. We’re going to cover another one of their products in our Magic Bullet NutriBullet 12-Piece High-Speed Blender and Mixer system review.
First let’s cover the specs of the Magic Bullet – equipped with a high-torque power base and a 600 watt motor, the blender is powered by a blade NutriBullet says is designed with “cyclonic action.” The package includes a power base, a tall cup and two shorter cups, two blades – one flat, one emulsifying, two lids and a manual with recipes – making it one of the most complete packages we’ve reviewed. NutriBullet, as an extraction appliance company, places particular emphasis on a lifestyle that embraces fresh produce for health.
The little blender (3.6 pounds) is as powerful as you will need it to be for a blender, you can use it for vegetables, fruits, protein shakes and superfoods and you can use it as a shredder, grinder, blender or chopper. It busts seeds open, shreds tough skins, and can crack open stems so that you can extract the nutrition that powers produce.
The main problem with the Magic Bullet NutriBullet is that the rpms of the blender’s motor are high (one model reaches up to 30,000) for a blender. High enough that if you run the blender too long, it will produce friction (and therefore heat) which begins to damage the nutritional benefits of the juice. So you can only run it for a minute at a time or it will heat up too much. Another unfortunate detail of the Magic Bullet is that even though it is a blender and a mixer, it only comes with one speed.
Convenience wise, the blender is easy to use. Its light weight makes it portable, and most of the parts are dish washer safe – it’s easy to assemble, disassemble and clean. The Magic Bullet NutriBullet is not a juicer and may be more suitable for beginners. Because it comes with everything you need, it will be easy to get started extracting nutrients from produce. If you can get around the inconvenience of having to turn the blender off and on every sixty seconds, this is a nice pick for someone who wants to experiment with aspects of juicing.
