We cover another Black and Decker today in our Black and Decker JE2400BD fruit and vegetable juice extractor review. This juicer is specifically designed to save space with its vertical design. While this is the case, how is the juicer when it comes to quality and convenience? Let’s take a look.
The appliance is powered by a four hundred watt motor, which means you won’t have to wait long for this centrifugal juicer to extract juice from your produce. The cutter and strainer are comprised of stainless steel, making the juicer more durable, and easy to clean. In fact, every removable part is okay to go in the dishwasher. Despite the space saving qualities of the juicer, the pulp container is large – a twenty eight ounce container catches your pulp so you can reuse it.
This juicer definitely doesn’t come equipped with bells and whistles. In fact, one of the selling points that the manufacturer describes is the on and off button, describing it as being intuitive. We aren’t sure how intuitive an on and off switch needs to be.
Nonetheless, the machine does a good job at juicing. Your pulp is going to be dry, and you can extract juice from some of the tougher vegetables like red beets. We haven’t juiced wheatgrass with the appliance but we don’t see why you can’t run it through the juicer a few times and extract juice from this plant matter. This isn’t extremely common with centrifugal juicers and might be a reason for you to look into this appliance more.
Convenience wise, the juicer is pretty set it and forget it – although you will have to disassemble this to clean it, this is status quot for most juicers. The fact that it is dishwasher safe and low on counter space makes the appliance both kitchen and user friendly.
There are a few negative aspects we need to take into consideration in our evaluation of this juicer. For one, it is loud, like most centrifugal juicers. One drawback for a juicer that seems to want to be convenient is that the feed chute is small. There is going to be some serious prep time involved if you want to juice your produce.
- Vertical Space Saving Design
- Large twenty eight ounce pulp container
- 400 W motor (110v)
- The juicer does take up less kitchen space
- It does a solid job of juicing
- Easy to clean
- Feed chute is too small
Final Thoughts on the Black+Decker JE2400BD Juicer
This juicer will fulfill all of your basic juicing needs, but it doesn’t have many bells and whistles. If the feed chute wasn’t so small, we would give this juicer a higher grade, but its just not that convenient to use for a standard juicer without any unique features. We have to say that if you want value, this might be a good pick. If your focus is quality of juice, features and convenience, maybe you will want to do some more research.
